Ms. Carroll Principal

BA History, Mt. Mercy College, Cedar Rapids, IA

MA School Administration, Clarke College, Dubuque, IA Ed.S.

Education Specialist, University of St. Thomas

It is a joy and privilege to have spent my entire professional life working with students, teachers and parents in Catholic schools. One of my favorite quotes on Catholic schools sums up the unique gift of our school --- "From the first moment that a student sets foot in a Catholic school, he or she ought to have the impression of entering a new environment, one illumined by the light of faith, and having its own unique characteristics." (The Religious Dimension of Education in a Catholic School) Epiphany School's family feel, Christ-centered focus, commitment to the growth of the whole person and high standards of excellence are immediately evident. Daily, I witness the Christian message put into action and the integration of faith in learning.

"I am not the same person I was yesterday because each day I learn and experience more!" This is one of my favorite quotes. A highlight of being the Associate Principal is that I have the privilege of seeing students grow as faithful, independent and successful learners. I love working in a Catholic school because I am able to express my faith at any time during the day. I believe Epiphany prepares students for a life of faith as well as academic excellence.

Mrs. Mehr

Counselor

BA Pyschology, University of Minnesota

MA Counseling and Psychological Service, St. Mary's University

Licensed Psychologist, Minnesota Board of Psychology

I love teaching developmental guidance for many reasons. First, I get to know and interact with all of the students. Second, I strongly believe the lessons are part of the foundation that allows each student to live their faith. My teaching goal is to help students build skills, behaviors and attitudes that strengthen their connection to Christ. Plus, it feels great to get along well with others, solve problems effectively and manage one's own emotions in a healthy manner.

Ms. Krattenmaker

Administrative Assistant

I have been working in Catholic schools for nearly 22 years. I have been at Epiphany for over ten years and prior to that at St. Elizabeth Seton in north Minneapolis. Working in a Catholic Christian environment is very satisfying. I have been married for 36 years. We have two sons and five grandchildren. Both of my sons went to Catholic grade school and one of them graduated from Totino Grace High School. Two of my grandchildren currently attend Epiphany. Overall, I am very proud of all that Epiphany has to offer our community.

Ms. Crowley

Kindergarten Teacher

BA Elementary Education, Gustavus Adolphus College

One of the highlights of teaching kindergarten is looking at the world through the eyes of a five year old each day. They see good in everyone and everything. They giggle at the silliest things and have the biggest hearts. Most importantly, they are curious, creative and ready to learn! One of my favorite quotes by Angela Schwindt is, "While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about."

I am delighted to teach kindergarten here at Epiphany where the students are nurtured in a faith-filled environment. Kindergarteners understand happiness involves helping others and their enthusiasm shows. Spoken by someone who truly knows, “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen, nor touched…but are felt in the heart” –Helen Keller.

Mrs. Gambino

BA Psychology, Marquette University

MA Art of Teaching, University of St. Thomas

"If you can dream it, you can do it." This is my favorite quote from Walt Disney. I love teaching kindergarten because of the tremendous amount of growth that can be seen in the students throughout the year. They are so excited to start school and eager to learn. It is exciting to watch them grow and learn throughout the year. My mother has been the biggest inspiration in my life. She brought out the best in everyone and was the kind of person that I strive to be.

Mrs. Klinger

1st Grade Teacher

BS Elementary Education

I love teaching first grade, because it is so spontaneous! Students are excited about learning and love to try and learn new things. A highlight of first grade is using hands-on activities and using our other senses to imprint knowledge on our brain. In a Catholic school, no matter what subject matter we are learning, I can always reinforce the presence of God. My favorite children's author is Jan Brett. Her stories are entertaining and her illustrations are full of predictions and are almost a story in themselves.

I feel blessed to have the opportunity to teach at Epiphany Catholic School and work with such a a great staff and wonderful families. I am a graduate of this school, I was married at the Church and my children have also attended Epiphany. You could say that it is my home away from home. Mrs. Ressler

BA Elementary/Spanish Ed., University of Mary, Bismarck, ND

Hello, I'm Mrs. Ressler. I enjoy teaching first grade because it gives me a chance to inspire and empower students at an age where they are becoming more independent. An inspirational person to me is Jane Nygaard. In 1985 she founded the Golden Retriever Rescue Organization. Since that time, she has helped to find homes for thousands of goldens.

I enjoy teaching second grade because I enjoy preparing students for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist. At this age they are very eager to learn about Jesus. I love to teach Catholic values, morals, and the basic foundation of the Catholic faith. Mother Theresa is an inspirational person in my life, because she lived the gospel message and found Jesus in the poorest of the poor. I like the following quote by her, "Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless."

I love teaching second grade at Epiphany because the children are energetic, open to just about anything, extremely literal, love to learn and love life. Working with them is truly one of the great blessings of my life. Second grade students demonstrate greater understanding and appreciation of the world "outside of themselves," and do desire to develop a closer relationship with Jesus. It is a beautiful thing.

Mrs. North

3rd Grade Teacher

BS, St. Cloud State University

I love teaching third grade! Each year a new group of smiling faces becomes my "school family" and I treat them as I would like my own children to be treated. Each student is unique and deserves to be taught accordingly. Some of the highlights of third grade include writing a hardcover fractured fairy tale, earning a Banana Split Party and an interdisciplinary unit called, "Pig Week." I have been teaching third grade at Epiphany for 22 years. Staying in one school so long brings immense pleasure. I love the people at Epiphany.

Hello, my name is Mrs. Branca Rosenow. I love working with nine and ten year old children, because it is so much fun to see their progress from the first day to the last. I feel one of the highlights of the year is creating the state report. The two people that have inspired me the most are my parents. They are both hard working people who strive for the best in them and for their family.

Fourth grade is a wonderful grade to teach. I enjoy watching our students blossom into independence. They get to dive into challenging math and are excited to learn about the secrets of the ancient past. Teaching in a Catholic school allows me to share my faith with my students. We can learn and worship together as a classroom family. One quote I love is, "Determine to live life with flair and laughter," by Maya Angelou.

I find teaching children this age, who are just beginning to see what the future might hold for them, an awesome experience. Being able to do this in a Catholic school is even better. I am teaching the students about their Catholic faith, and then I get to see them put this faith into action. I love to read and would recommend the author Kate Dicamillo to children of all ages.

Ms. Hird

5th Grade Teacher, Assistant Athletic Director

BA Elementary Education, College of St. Benedict

I have always wanted to teach fifth grade because it was my favorite grade as a student. Fifth grade students are a lot of fun; they like to laugh, work hard, are becoming more responsible and are creative thinkers. Teaching in a Catholic school is great because the message of Christ helps to create a welcoming community, both in the school building and through service throughout the world. One of my favorite quotes is "Education is not the filling of the pail, but the lighting of a fire." This is by W.B. Yeats.

I enjoy teaching at Epiphany! I am looking forward to my new teaching positions. I can utilize my love of technology while instructing students in the computer lab. My children are both Epiphany alumni, and I feel blessed that I am part of this awesome staff!

"The more that you read, the more that you'll know, the more that you learn, the more places that you'll go. You've got brains in your head and feet in your shoes, you can steer yourself in any direction you choose." This is one of my favorite quotes by Dr. Suess. I love teaching sixth grade because there are so many wonderful things we study each year. Teaching in a Catholic school allows me to share my faith with the students. We talk about things that matter and learn to stand up for those beliefs.

My favorite quote is, "In everything you do, you are telling the story of who you are."

For the seventh grade, a highlight is their ELC experience, and for the eighth grade a highlight is blossoming into being school leaders. Good parent support and great students are some of the reasons I enjoy Epiphany. My mother is a great inspiration to me because she is going strong and enjoying life at 94 years of age. I can challenge my students and have lively conversations with them. Plus, they get my jokes...at least most of them. An inspirational person in my life is Mr. Hoffman, the band director at Totino Grace High School. During high school, we made many memories and he is one of the reasons why I became a teacher.

I love teaching in a Catholic school because I have the opportunity to talk about my relationship with Christ at any time. Teaching seventh and eighth grade, I am able to give students a lot more responsibility and really hold them accountable for their actions. When you raise the bar of expectations for students, its really great to watch them strive to meet and exceed it. My favorite children's author is Shel Silverstein. One of my favorite quotes is, "There is nothing so solutary for us as to meditate every day on what Jesus, God and man has endured for our sakes."

I absolutely love to work with children and teaching Spanish gives me the opportunity to do something that I really love very much. It is a joy to help others recognize the value of knowing another language and learning about another culture. My favorite part of teaching is when students share with me when they have used the Spanish language outside of the classroom. Ms. Gadamus

K - 8 Art Teacher

BA in Art from Benedictine College

Post-Secondary Ed. Licensure University of Alaska Fairbanks

Currently completing MA University of Alaska Fairbanks

I love teaching K-8 art because through teaching art production, art criticism and aesthetics, I can help students experience the importance of art in their own lives as well as in our society. I love teaching in a Catholic school because faith can permeate and enhance the students' art experience. John Paul II stated in the Letter of His Holiness Pope John Paul II to Artists (1990), "May your art help to affirm that true beauty which, as a glimmer of the Spirit of God, will transfigure matter, opening the human soul to the sense of the eternal." I strive to help each student experience this "glimmer" of God throughout his or her art education experience.

I am very excited to be home at Epiphany. As a graduate of Epiphany, Catholic education has been invaluable to my own faith formation and I look forward to sharing my faith with the  students here now. The most inspirational people in my life are my kids. As students at a Catholic school themselves, they teach me how simple faith can be. I love that at any time during their day, they are encouraged to explore their relationship with God. I knew that I wanted to be a teacher in fifth grade and knew I would be a music teacher in sixth after joining band and starting clarinet. I love teaching music because I have the great opportunity and privilege of helping the students create and perform something that is uniquely their own.
