"It is...widely recognized that Catholic schools are to be communities of faith in which the Christian message, the experience of community, worship, and social concern are integrated into the total experience of students, their parents, and the members of the faculty." Sharing the Light of Faith |
Religious Formation. Students receive daily age appropriate religious instruction in prayer, worship, scripture, Catholic doctrine and traditions, morality, sacramental life, and outreach. Prayer and Worship. Each school day begins and ends with prayer. Students pray before lunch. They celebrate Eucharist and Mass with the parish community once a week and there is an all school Mass once a month. Students learn to participate in liturgy as readers, song leaders, gift bearers and planners. Adoration. Epiphany students visit the parish Adoration Chapel weekly for prayer and reflection. Daily Rosary. Each homeroom class prays two decades of the rosary daily. Celebrating the Liturgical Year. Students learn ways to observe and celebrate the seasons of the Church: Advent, Christmas, Lent, Tridium, Easter, Pentecost and Ordinary time. School Theme. An annual theme unifies and focuses our faith journey throughout the school year. The 2008-2009 theme "Celebrate Service" supports an integral part of Epiphany School's identity. Monthly, students have opportunities to reach beyond the walls of the school to serve others. During Lent, Epiphany's National Junior Honor Society, lead students in collecting money to purchase over seventy-five school supply packets for Monsignor Matthew's School in Uganda. Manifest Christ to All. As a school, we strive to be Christ present particularly through stewardship, hospitality, and service. Students learn the meaning of these values and have many opportunities to put their faith into action. |
